Robby Makka (55)

Mr. Robby Makka (MSc), a jurist and financial-economic analyst, has been knighted twice for his contributions to the diaspora—once royally in the Netherlands and once presidentially in Suriname. For the past 30 years, he has tirelessly and selflessly dedicated himself, without subsidies or reimbursement, to various impactful roles as a leader, expert, advisor, and, most importantly, volunteer. Through diverse community initiatives, he has made significant contributions to both the Dutch and Surinamese diaspora. In the Netherlands, he is affectionately known as “Mister Diaspora.”

Brian Imambaks (44)

Brian Imambaks is the founder of Technovate NV and a visionary IT expert with over 15 years of experience, specializing in cloud infrastructure, backup and recovery, and database management across Linux and Windows environments. He is also highly skilled in MS SQL Server and has embraced cutting-edge technologies such as augmented reality and artificial intelligence to drive innovation.

As the creator of RXCHAT, one of the Caribbean’s leading AI chatbot platforms, Brian has transformed customer engagement for small and medium-sized businesses by helping them streamline operations, enhance customer experiences, and save time and money. Additionally, he developed Augmentify, a digital twin platform that bridges the real and virtual worlds, enabling augmented reality experiences that drive growth in industries such as manufacturing, oil and gas, tourism, retail, banking, and logistics.

Brian is also the visionary behind RXPAY, a payment gateway platform designed to streamline payments for companies and the banking sector. RXPAY simplifies transaction processing, enabling even those without a bank account to access online payments. By fostering financial inclusion, RXPAY brings seamless payment solutions closer to everyone.

With a career spanning multiple sectors such as insurance, banking, oil and gas, and retail, Brian brings a rich understanding of diverse business needs. Annand Jagesar

Mr. Annand Jagesar, Managing Director of Staatsolie, holds a bachelor’s degree in business economics and a master’s degree in Business Administration, specialization Corporate Strategy and Economic Policy. Prior to his appointment as Managing Director, he has assumed several positions at Staatsolie, including Director Downstream, Deputy Director Business Development and Manager Corporate Planning.

Mr. Jagesar has a strong track record in strategic planning, project execution and operational efficiency. He has led the acquisition of the Chevron retail business in Suriname. He has been member of negotiation teams for Production Sharing Contracts and has negotiated a number of follow-up agreements to progress work execution in this regard.

Mr. Jagesar has been Chairman of the Board of the Suriname Stock Exchange; and member of the Supervisory Board of Twin hotels N.V. (owner of Courtyard Marriot Suriname). In addition, Mr. Jagesar has been the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Academic Hospital Paramaribo, and Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Insurance Company Assuria N.V.

Priya Ramcharan

Priya Ramcharan is an entrepreneur, language expert, and business coach dedicated to bridging communication gaps across cultures. She founded On Spot Language in 2022 to meet the rising demand for hybrid learning and intercultural communication in education and business. Her workshops have been used by private companies and government organizations to improve international collaboration.

Expanding into AI and virtual learning, Priya has helped businesses establish online training environments in Singapore, Dubai, Friesland, Germany, Indonesia, and Suriname. She also integrates AI tools into business coaching, enhancing communication and efficiency across industries like finance, logistics, and education.
As a certified legal interpreter and translator, she has assisted with official documents, contracts, and negotiations, including translations for Suriname’s Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Fisheries. Her expertise supports private businesses, government institutions, and diplomatic discussions.

With a diverse client base—including Christian ministries, medical beauticians, and logistics companies in The Netherlands—Priya continues to develop innovative solutions that help individuals and businesses navigate language and cultural challenges in a globalized world, especially for young Surinamese entrepreneurs.

Dirk Currie

Dirk holds a doctoral degree in business economics from ADEK. He had a career with the Ministry of Finance for 6 years and then spent over 33 years in various leadership roles in large companies, including 28.5 years in the roles of CFO, CEO and COO and in 2020 started Your Leadership Toolbox Consultancy (YLT-Consultancy). Dirk has been a member of supervisory boards in many companies in a variety of industries. Dirk also led CANTO as president-elect for 5 years (Regional Organization of Telecom Companies). Currently Dirk is chairman of the Lotjeshuis foundations, Center for Democracy and Justice and board member of Wi Tru Sranan. Dirk is a member of the Rotary Club Paramaribo Central and of the Association of Economists in Suriname (VES). Dirk is also president of the Suriname China Friendship Association (SCVV).

Dirk was very active in sports and represented as a player of the national volleyball squad
Suriname.

Dirk enjoys reading, being in nature and trying challenging sports activities. Dirk is very spiritual and his core values are freedom, respect and justice and he is the proud father of Giano and Tirzah.

Orlando Wilfred Cairo

Cairo, Orlando Wilfred is the chairman Value Chain platform Cassava(Roots and Tuber). This platform has to take care of increasing the high quality of the cucurbit crops in Suriname, increase production, watch over food security and food safety, bring the farmers together and is the contact point of the farmers towards the government. He is also the chairman of the El’Jakim Foundation.

Revinh Ajai Ramnandanlall

Mr. Revinh Ajai Ramnandanlall holds an MSc.BA in Change Management, Strategic Management, and Business-to-Society Management, along with a BSc.ES in Environmental Science, Environmental Technology, and Environmental Management. As a visionary leader and entrepreneur, he is the Director and Founder of B4Concepts Management & Advies N.V., a business advisory firm that pioneers in business and concept development, strategy development, change management, and integrated ISO design and implementation for major Surinamese companies, with a specialization in ISO14001 (Environmental Management Systems).

John Brewster

Drs. John Brewster is a versatile professional with expertise in the fields of public administration, law and supervision. He teaches public administration and law, and is also a member of the Supervisory Board of the Gooise Scholen Federatie.

In addition, Brewster is active in various national and international advisory boards. In Brussels, he advises member states on diaspora engagement policies, and he chairs the Diaspora Institute Netherlands.

Brewster is a recognized expert in change management and provides boardroom training to supervisors and commissioners. He also advises top companies, including Schiphol Group, on diversity and inclusion.

Egon von Foidl is a seasoned hotelier with global expertise in the development and management of luxury hotels, resorts, golf and spa operations. His experience has earned him high recognition within the international hospitality industry and awarded him the prestigious “CANADIAN HOTELIER OF THE YEAR AWARD” in 2003.

Sushma Biere

Sushma Biere – Founder of Een Kijkje In and more
Sushma Biere has been serving the government of Suriname for 15 years and currently works as a Policy and Communication Officer at the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Fisheries. With a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, she has built a strong foundation in media and communication, which she applies to her role in shaping policies and managing public relations.
Through dedication and perseverance, Sushma has worked tremendously hard to climb the ladder in Suriname’s challenging professional landscape. In addition to her public service career, she is the creator and host of her own television program, Een Kijkje In, where she provides an insightful look into various aspects of Surinamese culture and society. She also organizes and hosts events under Mehfil Events, a platform founded by Sieske Rama. With her relentless drive and passion for media, communication, and event management, Sushma continues to make a lasting impact in both her professional and personal endeavours.

Dr. Vishnu Doerga

Born in Paramaribo, Suriname, and later migrating to Guyana, Dr. Vishnu Doerga has emerged as a leading force in regional economic development. With a PhD in Management specializing in Entrepreneurship and a background as a Mechanical Engineer, he has dedicated his career to fostering business growth and investment opportunities. As Chair of the Suriname-Guyana Chamber of Commerce and ActionINVEST Caribbean Inc., Dr. Doerga plays a crucial role in strengthening business ties between the two nations. His expertise spans entrepreneurship, private sector development, and business coaching, helping companies scale, innovate, and integrate into the global marketplace.
 
With extensive experience operating in both Guyana and Suriname, Dr. Doerga actively promotes regional collaboration, public-private partnerships, and diaspora engagement. His leadership in business support organizations has been instrumental in bridging local enterprises with international stakeholders, facilitating strategic investments and knowledge transfer to drive economic progress.
 
As a speaker at the 1st Business Summit of Diaspora Suriname, Dr. Doerga continues to champion entrepreneurial initiatives and investment facilitation. His commitment to unifying the diaspora for sustainable development makes him a key advocate for leveraging regional talent, resources, and partnerships to fuel long-term economic growth.

Malesia Murray

Malesia Murray born in 19th December 1995 is a Visual Art and Art- Educator. She is a Surinamese – Guyanese of Indian origin.
She has a degree in Arts and has completed her Studies at the Nola Art Academy of Suriname.

After her studies she started to work with many Artists and participated in many exhibitions. She has also won a couple of Art Competitions ( National and International ) She represented her Country Suriname a couple of times in the Caribbean and in the World.

Currently she is a Art Teacher at De Nederlandse Lyceum Paramaribo and G-Art Blok besides that she is working towards her upcoming projects and Exhibitions.
